He likes to eat at the Ako beko but allways asks to "put it on my tab"
As a child of 9 he belonged to a group called a Sekiho tai (Sekiho army) There job was to gather information about future targets. Sagara Sozo, the leader of the Sekiho tai, dreamed of equality for all people, and so, gave Sanosuke his family's name. When the patriots decieded against the equality for all ideals, the murdered the Sekiho tai, decapitated captain Sagara and stuck his head on a post in Kyoto. As a result Sanosuke became a shogunate supporter and despised the ishin shihi who betrayed him. He drowned his sorrows in fighting. He bacame a fighter for hire who would beat up the people he was told to and then charged his clients on how much he enjoyed the fight. He weilds a huge Zanbato (oversized sword) and so he gives himeself the name "Zanza"
When he is asked by the Hiruma brothers, Gohei and Kihei to kill Kenshin, he jumps at teh chance to kill one of the Ishin Shishi who killed the Sekiho tai. He fights kenshin but ,not surpringly he looses. He then see's that Kenshin and his ideals are just like that of Capatin Sagara, and he deicieds to stay with Kenshin to see if he really is different from the Ishin Shishi pigs he hates.but when he wants to be, Sano can be very kawaii ^^.
